Data Gateway - Help

The Data Gateway system is used by partners of the Government of Canada (GoC) and Canadian employers as a secure transfer mechanism to exchange data with the GoC under various GoC programs or information exchange agreements. The system provides the identification, authentication and ensures the privacy of data as it is transmitted from your browser to our site.

Who Can Use the Data Gateway Public Website?

The Data Gateway Web Site can only be used by employers, provinces, territories and other external partners who are entitled to submitting files under specific Government of Canada programs or information exchange agreements.

Signing In for AppGate Users

You will need to use your windows/AppGate credentials to authenticate yourself in this secured version. After logging in with your AppGate credentials, they will be used to link your Data Gateway account to your windows credentials, if it was not already done. After your first successful connection, you will no longer be required to enter your credentials, since it will be linked to your windows account.

Signing In for Public Users

Your user id and password are a critical part in securing the Data Gateway Web Site and they must not be disclosed to anyone under any circumstances. Should any of these credentials be disclosed or you might think they are compromised, the user id and password must be changed immediately.

First Time Signing In

You will need to agree to the Terms of Use and you will be prompted to change your temporary password to a permanent password of your choosing. To choose your password, you will need to follow the rules associated with it. To have more information about these rules, view the Change Password section or if you are currently changing it, you can click on the section named “To show or hide the password rules, click here” on the bottom of the Change Password page. You will also be prompted to update your contact information as per the program requirement to keep the contact information of each of their user up to date. Be advised that you will not be able to browse anywhere in the Data Gateway until your contact information is updated.

Account Disabled

If you tried logging in using a non-existing user ID more than 15 times, your access will be automatically locked and you will be redirected to this page. You will not be able to login again for another 30 minutes. Moreover, if you tried logging in using a valid user ID, but an invalid password more than 3 times, your account will automatically be locked for a period of 30 minutes and will direct you to this page. You can then wait for the 30 minutes to expire before trying to log in again, or refer to the Contact Us page of the web site for more information in regards to the authorized procedure for your program in order to have your account unlocked and/or your password reset.

Logout

It is important to logout of the website once you are done with your operations by selecting the Logout link from the left side menu.

Change Password

This page allows you to change your password. You can change your password at anytime. Enter your current Password and then enter your new password and confirm it. Click on the Change Password button. A message will then be displayed to indicate the status of the change. Your password must follow these rules:

  • The password should have a minimum length of 8 characters and a maximum of 12 characters
  • The password must have at least 1 uppercase character
  • The password must have at least 1 lowercase character
  • The password must have at least 1 numeric character
  • The password must have at least 1 special characters or punctuation character (e.g. !$%&/()?+*#-@:)
  • The password must be different than your username
  • The password must not contain any whitespace
  • The password cannot be the same as the current or previous user's passwords

Contact Us

This page provides contact information for your questions or comments regarding the Data Gateway application. Select the link for the program you are participating to get the corresponding contact information. If the program you are participating in is not listed, select "Participant to other program".

Forgot Username or Password

This page allows you to retrieve your Username and or Password. Depending on the program you are participating in, follow the instructions. If you have forgotten your username or password, you can click on the link named “Forgot your Username or Password?” in the bottom of the Login page. Once you’ve clicked on the link, you will be redirected to its page and will have two options. For the Reports on Hiring (ROH) Program, you will need to provide your business number and your E-mail to change your password. For the Participants of other programs, you will need to provide your Username and E-mail to change your password. Once you’ve submitted the request, you will receive an e-mail message with your new temporary password, which will need to be changed.

Login

This page is where you login to the Data Gateway application. Enter your Username and Password and then click on the Submit Authorization button.
